This page describes two methods for loading filament on the Q2 printer: automatic loading and manual loading.
The following steps use official PLA filament as an example.
¶ Automatic Loading
- Insert the filament into the external feed port until it reaches the toolhead and can no longer be pushed further.
- Wait for the nozzle to heat up.
- The printer will begin feeding filament automatically.
- Check whether melted filament is extruded from the nozzle.
If filament flows out smoothly, loading is complete.
¶ Manual Loading
- Insert the filament into the external feed port until it reaches the toolhead and can no longer be pushed further.
- Tap the area shown in the image to adjust the nozzle temperature.
- Set the nozzle temperature for the filament.
In this example, the temperature is set to 220 °C.
- When the nozzle reaches the target temperature, tap the arrow on the right to extrude filament and observe the nozzle.
- When filament is extruded smoothly from the nozzle, manual loading is complete.
