¶ Replace Thermal Conductive Silicone Grease — X-Plus 4
Extended printing with high-temperature filament may reduce the performance of the thermal conductive silicone grease.
Reapplication ensures proper heat transfer between the heating element and the hotend assembly.
Follow the steps below to replace the thermal conductive silicone grease.
¶ Step 1 — Remove the silicone sock
Carefully remove the silicone sock from the hotend.
¶ Step 2 — Remove the ceramic heater fasteners
Remove the fasteners securing the ceramic heating element.
¶ Step 3 — Apply thermal conductive silicone grease
Apply a thin, even layer of thermal conductive silicone grease to the contact surface.
¶ Step 4 — Reinstall the ceramic heater fasteners
Secure the ceramic heating element using the original fasteners.
¶ Step 5 — Reinstall the silicone sock
Reinstall the silicone sock after completing the installation.
